Cross-chain and off-exchange trading has always carried real counterparty risk. Two people, a trade, and no shared ground to stand on. SwiftPeer was built to be that ground — a neutral third party that holds funds in escrow until both sides of a trade are honored, without requiring either party to trust the other.
We built our reputation quietly, trade by trade, inside a closed network. Now we're bringing that same discipline to a public, web-based platform.
SwiftPeer provides escrow services purpose-built for peer-to-peer crypto trading, including cross-chain transactions. We don't handle goods or general marketplace escrow — our focus is narrow and deliberate: crypto-to-crypto trades where both parties need a trustless, secure, neutral intermediary.

Founded in Edinburgh
SwiftPeer was founded in Edinburgh in 2020 by Callum Fraser, then an engineering student at the University of Strathclyde, after he identified a gap in secure peer-to-peer payments while buying and selling ticket tokens online during the pandemic.
What started as an invitation-only network of a small circle of peer-to-peer traders moving assets across chains grew into dedicated peer-to-peer cross-chain escrow infrastructure, which we brought to the web the following year.
SwiftPeer begins as an invitation-only network for a small circle of peer-to-peer traders moving assets across chains.
The private network grows into dedicated peer-to-peer cross-chain escrow infrastructure, brought online for our members.
SwiftPeer opens to the public and continues to scale internationally from our headquarters in Scotland.
SwiftPeer now operates across 13+ networks, with 1,000+ active users and 634 weekly trades, serving traders borderlessly across every major asset class traded online.
We are currently undergoing our first third-party security audit, expected to complete January 1, 2027.
We are currently undergoing our first third-party security audit, expected to complete January 1, 2027.
Until the audit is finalized, we recommend limiting individual trade size to 1.5 BTC (or equivalent).
Every safeguard we use today is the product of years of private operation before we ever went public.
“We'd rather earn trust in public the same way we earned it in private: incrementally, and with full disclosure of where we still have work to do.”
As the audit concludes and our public track record grows, we intend to raise trade limits and expand support accordingly. We'll post updates here as milestones are reached.
